The Trollen Wheel used for making braid reputedly in the Viking Period, a great little project for younger viking/ saxon re-enactors to get into and keep them entertained. But check with your authenticity officers first as i am aware that some don't like them being used.
 
Product size may vary as these are made from the foot of a turned pot or bowl, so will be subject to what is being turned. Generally no larger than 75mm diameter, and no thicker that 6/7mm. Sizes are approximate
