his set of calf wrap hooks in the shape of two ravens was modelled on a Viking settlement in Chernigov / Ukraine, and dates to the 10th century.
The calf wraps were worn by the Vikings at the end of the woollen puttees and simply hooked into the fabric at the knee to close them.
An almost identical model in the shape of a raven has also been found on Gotland in Sweden.
Leg wrap hooks were worn by men and women alike in the Viking era and can be found in the Rus areas, as well as in England and in Scandinavia.
The small eyelets allow the Raven leg wrap hook to be conveniently sewn onto the top of calf wraps and stays securely in place due to its long needle.
The Chernigov calf wrap hooks are also made of high-quality bronze
he dimensions are: 4.2 x 1.8 cm. The leg wrap hooks are supplied as a pair.

Living History is making history come to life, and there are groups around the country that weekend in and weekend out (and some days in between) will set up a living history encampment, although at the moment my pages are focused generally upon the Migration, Saxon/Viking age, many of the items are transferable to other periods such as Roman and Crusade and earlier/later.
We hope this section can provide you with items to enhance your display, and if you're not a re-enactor, then also to enhance your home.
Please note that some wooden items may no longer be in stock throughout event season however please contact me to replicate anything you may see and like.
