The decoration on this strap end shows a zoomorphic stylised
animal head at the terminal end and two panels with geometric
patterns separated by a collared waist.
This strap end is categorised as a Thomas type B. Type B strap ends
are noted for being narrow and elongated. Similar examples of type
B strap ends can be seen on the Portable Antiquities Scheme
website (Unique ID SUSS-076BDD)
This strap end would have seen use between the 8th—11th
centuries
Made using lost wax casting process, original master carved by Andy
Mason, cast by Stuart Makin of Jackhammer Forge.
The strap end is supplied with rivets and washers for fitting.
10mm wide x 52mm long. Suitable for a 12mm wide belt strap.
